Rock Yenta Productions Inc. is a film and television production company owned and operated by Charlotte Engel.



​Charlotte Engel has over 30 years of experience working in the television and film industries. Based in Canada Engel develops, produces and consults on television and film productions.



​Prior to Rock Yenta, Engel was a commissioning editor at CHUM, CTV and BELL MEDIA and CBC for over 15 years. Specializing in factual, documentary and performing arts programming, Engel oversaw programming for Bravo!, the Space Channel and CBC Docs from start to finish. Many of the productions Engel supervised went on to win awards and garner rave reviews around the world.

​After years of working on other people's work, Engel saw an opportunity in 2011 to start her own business. With a wide roster of contacts, great ideas and a solid knowledge of film and television, it was Engel's time to start her own company.



​Bringing together her love of music and her solid nature (Rock) and her love of putting great minds and talent together (Yenta), 'Rock Yenta' was born in April 2011.



​Since its start, Rock Yenta has been busy developing and producing docs for CBC, TVO and the Documentary Channel. Engel won the CSA for Best Documentary for "My Millennial Life". Charlotte Engel sits on the boards of Film PEI  & Charlottetown Film Society and was previously on the boards of imagineNATIVE, DOC Toronto and Hot Docs. She also sits on the programming committee for the Yorkton Film Festival.

 

Engel moved to PEI from Toronto in 2022 and is in development on a few projects. She directed an episode of "Land & Sea" in 2023.
